On Saturday 28 June 2014, London saw its forty-second consecutive Pride march pass through the streets of Central London. Torrential downpours continued throughout, but that didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the several thousand participants who came from organisations as diverse as the London Fire Brigade, the Civil Service, major banks and broadcasters and health charities including MacMillan Cancer Care, the National Aids Trust and Gay Men Fighting Aids.

This year the Pride celebrations were centered around Trafalgar Square. On the main stage there were speeches from the likes of Sir Ian McKellen and veteran human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell, while entertainment came from artists including Conchita Wurst, Katrina Leskanich, Sinitta and the Pink Singers. Some of the stars of Eastenders got in on the action too…
